Admission Requirements

The Institute has three entry routes

Entry by means of SSSCE/WASSCE (Entry at Level 100)
Entry by means of the mature students’ examination (Entry at level 100)
Entry by means of professional certificates and tertiary level diplomas depending on an assessment of the diploma and performance at interview

The Application Process

Senior High School Applicants

Post-Senior High School applicants must have passed in 6 subjects with an overall aggregate of 24 or better. Three of the 6 subjects must be core subjects (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science) and three must be electives relevant to the applicant’s proposed programme of study. In addition, applicants must satisfy special Departmental requirements for the programme(s) chosen.

Mature Students

Must be at least 25 years old by 1^st August of the academic year one wants to enrol. A photocopy of original SSNIT certificate is required
Must hold Teacher’s certificate “A” (Attach photocopies of result slips), OR SSS/WASS Certificate or a Certificate of Professional Training from a recognized institution (Applicants should submit photocopies of certificates not results slip).
Must pass the ILM entrance examination.

Professional and Post –Diploma Applicants

Candidates in this category must possess:

A Higher National Diploma or its equivalence in a relevant programme from a recognized institution.
Must pass an interview. (Applicants should forward a copy Academic Transcripts).

In addition to the general admission requirements above, Faculties and Departments may have their specific requirements.

NOTE:

Selection into the Institute

The final decision on the suitability of an applicant admission to any programme rests with the Joint Admissions Board of the Institute.
